It's been 137 days (from when this was written) since 'Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins' was released in theaters and 45 days later, it's a no show at Paramount+. Lots of people were anticipating and waiting to watch the movie there. So why isn't the movie streaming on Paramount+?
To recap the whole 45-day window, ViacomCBS revised their deal with Epix to stream their biggest movies onto Paramount+ under 30-45 days after its release in theaters.
But what has been barely noted to lots of people was that most movies would still honor the regular Pay 1 window to Epix before the revised deal under some flexibility. So after a movie without the Paramount+ accommodation was released onto theaters, it goes to Epix exclusively for 90 days until its goes to Paramount+ (and Hulu as both have the white labels to Epix movies).
So when will 'Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins' come to Epix and (eventually) Paramount+?
Next month. Snake Eyes will premiere on Epix on January 17, 2022, and in 90 days, it should stream on Paramount+ presumably April 17, 2022.
I know that was a lot of information but it should now give you a good idea of why a specific movie did not hit Paramount+ after 45 days. The next movie that may get the same treatment is 'Scream', which comes next month, so don't be surprised.
If that's the case then why hasn't any of the epixs movies... MGM haven't been released on Paramount Plus.... Because MGM has the same deal with Paramount...
