During Paramount's animation portion of their CinemaCon presentation, Ramsey Naito, President of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation unveiled the voice cast for Transformers One, the fully animated prequel film for the franchise based on the Takara and Hasbro toys, which will explore the origins of the Cybertronian War.
The cast of course is led by Optimus Prime, here voiced by Chris Hemsworth, Thor Odinson himself in his first animated film role. Quite the debut if so may say. Brian Tyree Henry is voicing Megatron, and the film chronicles how the two went from being brothers-in-arms to sworn enemies. Keegan-Michael Key will be voicing Bumblebee, while Hemsworth's Avengers series co-star Scarlett Johansson voices Elita, Jon Hamm voices Sentinel Prime and Laurence Fishburne is in the role of Alpha Trion.
Directed by Toy Story 4 director Josh Cooley, Transformers One has had its script written by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari. Steven Spielberg continues to executive produce as he has since the 2007 Michael Bay-directed Transformers, which began the modern film franchise. Bay is in fact one of the producers on this film, along with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy, Mark Vahradian and Aaron Dem. The film's other executive producers are Brian Goldner, Brian Oliver, Bradley J. Fischer, and Valerii An.
