Paramount+ has unveiled the first trailer for Taylor Sheridan’s espionage thriller Special Ops: Lioness and announced that the series will premiere Sunday, July 23,
Inspired by an actual United States military program, the series is about Joe, played by Zoe Saldaña as she attempts to balance her personal life and being the tip of the CIA’s spear in the war on terror and their efforts to thwart the next major attack. The Lioness Program/Lioness Engagement Team is run by Kaitlyn Meade, played by Nicole Kidman, and Donald Westfield, played by Michael Kelly. Joe is the Lioness program station chief who trains, manages, and leads the female undercover operatives. They enlist Cruz, an aggressive, passionate, and rough-around-the-edges Marine Raider played by Laysla De Oliveira, who is, therefore, the newest recruit Joe trains. Joe tells her “We locate the wives and daughters of these high-value targets, and we place an operative close to them, And we kill the target.” Together, they operate undercover with her among the power brokers of State terrorism and help bring down a terrorist organization from within. Or it’s about Cruz, there were conflicting summaries between Deadline, who uses the synopsis in the teaser’s description, and TVLine.
