New 'Thundermans' Movie 'Clash of The Thundermans' With Ariel Winter Announced

Winter is coming to Hiddenville. Or is it Secret Shores? Nickelodeon is continuing the The Thundermans franchise in the midst of current series The Thundermans: Undercover’s Super Secret Summer event. Oddly they haven’t announced a season 2 renewal of the series, not yet anyway, but instead a second movie, titled Clash of the Thundermans. Set to premiere day and date on the network and Paramount+ in 2026, the announcement came as filming began in Vancouver. Stars Kira Kosarin, Jack Griffo, and Maya Le Clark all celebrated the commencement on their socials.

Kosarin, Griffo, and Le Clark reprise their roles as as Phoebe, Max, and Chloe Thunderman, and the film is confirmed to be a full family affair: Addison Riecke as Nora, Diego Velazquez as Billy, Chris Tallman as dad Hank and Rosa Blasi as mom Barb. Modern Family and Phineas and Ferb alum Ariel Winter will play Cognita, who sounds rather like a mind control, intelligence or telepathy-based superbeing.

Clash of the Thundermans sees Chloe develop a destructive new superpower that she can’t quite control yet. The Hero League orders her to an elite boarding school for superheroes to see that she can. This is a very isolating and strict boarding school that would keep Chloe away for years. The conundrum pits the Thundermans against one another, so much that Phoebe, Barb and Billy taking her into hiding while Max, Hank, and Nora hunt them down, because apparently declining is not an option. This culminates in a full-on battle for the Thundermans’ future. See the educated guess about Cognita doesn’t come up at all in the logline.

Trevor Kirschner directs and serves as co-executive producer for the movie: The creative team of Jed Spingarn, Sean W. Cunningham and Marc Dworkin writes and executive produce. Kosarin and Griffo also executive produce, along with Richard Bullock. The first film, The Thundermans Return, which first reunited the cast of the original 2013-2018 The Thundermans series, ranked as the top entertainment telecast for the year to date in Live+3 across all cable among Kids 6-11. It garnered 1.6 million total viewers throughout its premiere weekend across four airings from March 7-10 in 2023.
